Description of an artifact

Two-piece garment: Cardigan and skirt. Cardigan is made of blue dense cotton fabric with thick double-sided combed pile, with a small black geometric pattern. Fitted in front with side darts, reliefs are on the back. Stand-up collar in black velvet, lined in red printed chintz. Sleeves are set-in, straight, long and narrow; along the bottom, there are two stripes of black and white handmade lace. On the chest, there is a vertical fastener to the waist with welt loops for six buttons; on the left side, it is trimmed with a narrow black linen tape. The skirt is homespun, dark blue with narrow blue stripes, wide, tightly gathered at the waist. The bottom is hemmed and crocheted with green threads.
