Description of an artifact

Printed navy-blue chintz with a pattern of small red roses. Cut at the waist, a bodice on a yoke with a vertical slit-fastener on four buttons with welt loops; a front bodice under the yoke is on a calico lining, draped with solid bow pleats; along the waist line, there is a belt with a two-button fastener. Sleeves are set-in, long and narrow. The skirt is lightly gathered; in the right-side seam, there is a pocket; in the left-side seam, there is a one-button fastener. The hemline is trimmed from the face in black satin, from the inside with a calico strip.
